Yes, all humans are vulnerable, even those we believe are the most powerful. In fact, each one of us has his own fears but we have a trick in common: the worst in our eyes would be to be perceived as weak.

The fear paradox

Hence the fear paradox: we hide our particular fears under collective (social, national, religious, ethnic…) shows of strength which call for conflict.
Human history is plagued with avoidable evils triggered by common neuroses.
